How a Cyprus banking crisis changed the way I think about financial security — and ultimately led me to building an online business.
You don’t need another online business that feels like a job.
You want more freedom. More financial security. Something that’s genuinely yours.
But you don’t want to spend every waking hour building it.
Neither do I.
I’m a Yorkshire woman living my autumn chapter in Cyprus, and my journey into online business wasn’t driven by some grand entrepreneurial masterplan.
It came from discovering, rather dramatically, that the financial security I’d taken for granted could disappear almost overnight.

I realised I didn’t want to spend the rest of my working life relying entirely on someone else for my income and security.
So I started building something online.
And then I discovered something else…
It wasn’t nearly as simple as the people selling the dream made it sound.

- Tried the strategies.
- Got distracted by shiny objects.
- Overcomplicated things.
- Started things and not finished them.
- And wondered more than once whether I’d simply left it too late.

Eventually, I stopped trying to do everything and started concentrating on what actually moves the needle.

Just practical, straightforward help to simplify what you’re doing, focus your efforts and make consistent progress.
Because doing fewer things consistently will usually get you further than doing everything badly.
And I don’t expect you to build your business the way someone else says you should.
You have a life.
Your business needs to fit into it.

I didn’t move to the Mediterranean for a better quality of life just to spend the rest of it glued to my laptop.
